At the time, they had been in the car for almost a week, with no help in sight, and I've read other stories where the only reason the folks survived was BECAUSE someone left the family and went for help. So it's impossible to second guess what the right thing to do would be. Maybe to stay on a major highway in bad weather, but they had no way of knowing that that road was officially closed, and some asshole bastard fucktards had cut the chain, probably to do a little illegal hunting in early November. Not that I'm mad at them or anything.Jhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13157692086581512656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17774329.post-1165869442960503742006-12-11T12:37:00.000-08:002006-12-11T12:37:00.000-08:002006-12-11T12:37:00.000-08:00I have a reoccuring dream-fight with my husband wh...I have a reoccuring dream-fight with my husband where we are in a ranch-style house during a tornado.

He is standing in front of the siding glass door watching the tornado as it comes closer and closer. I am screaming at the top of my lungs for him to get away from the window. Each time I have this dream, I wake up angry at him.

When I first heard about the Kim tragedy, I immediately thought about the tornado dream.

Why a tornado? I live on the east coast, in a rather hilly area with almost no chance of ever seeing a tornado. I don't live in a ranch-house or have a sliding glass door.Heathernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17774329.post-1165859393977328162006-12-11T09:49:00.000-08:002006-12-11T09:49:00.000-08:002006-12-11T09:49:00.000-08:00I have to say L, I think your changes of survival ...I have to say L, I think your changes of survival would be higher if you went. I was appalled, at the time, and thought, "How can he say that? Why isn't she upset?"

Now that I've been reading a while longer, and feel like I've gotten to "know" the two of you a little better, I just think this is a hoot. Actually, I did hoot, and caused my own husband to wander over to the computer. He wanted to know what was so funny, but I don't think I could explain it. It just sounds very much like an argument I'd expect to read about from you two.

It's so frightening to read about the Kims' situation and wonder what we'd do in the same circumstance. I don't blame Hub for wanting to think it couldn't ever happen to him, even though we really never know what we will be up against. I am glad my family is all safe, and we've never had to make a decision like that.Tropehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16833180012102832559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17774329.post-1165730513380670122006-12-09T22:01:00.000-08:002006-12-09T22:01:00.000-08:002006-12-09T22:01:00.000-08:00You are the bravest woman in bloggerdom... and sma...You are the bravest woman in bloggerdom... and smart, too. After the news come out that James was found, i called Boyfriend to let him know (we had been following the story and very concerned)and asked him what he would do. Before he could answer I said "you would NOT leave me there" and he replied with a "no, of course not" and continued with what his plan would be. We talked at length about what we both would do and had a few disagreements about strategy.

Today while traveling upstate we were again talking about it as we were in the mountains. If anything good could come out of this horrible tragedy is the amount of discussion it has created. We will be getting supplied for our cars as we will be traveling to the mountains more often and have better knowledge of what to do in the event we did get stranded.

More hope for the future is the idiot(s) who cut the chain and opened the gate are found and peace for the kim family.C.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17677555290950815409noreply@blogger.com
