With Apologies to T.S. Eliot

This is the way the blog ends
This is the way the blog ends
This is the way the blog ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

Maybe I'm being overly dramatic -- perhaps it's not "the end," and this blog will have some sort of after-life. I'm going to leave it up here, and who knows, I might post here again from time to time.

But after more than five years, I just don't seem to want to do this anymore. And I seem to have just...stopped. Just like that. Without any thought.

I will try to comment more on all the blogs upon which I lurk, and you can always find me on Facebook and Twitter.

Just know I'm still out here, and still homesick, wherever I happen to be.

'Til we meet again!

(or if you prefer, "Till human voices wake us, and we drown.")

Glad to've met you on this journey... take care, and enjoy the blessings in this life.

Fr. Michael (or maybe it was Fr. Patrick) gave this old Irish blessing at the end of Mass last week: "May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Gonna miss you!! (Wimper. ;) Love TS Eliot)

Yours was one of the last couple of blogs I read...I too just stopped. I was done. Just happens. One day, you just don't want to do it anymore.

Or maybe it's the 140 characters FB takeover?

Zircon and Dongurigal! I will miss both of you, too! Can't we please stay in touch on other social media platforms?

I'm on Facebook and Twitter under my real name.

I get it.
I have almost reached the end of the road as far as blogging is concerned.

I don't know if it was ever "fun" but it is like a duty recently. It is what I make it and I have just not been able to make it fun.

Maybe a torrid love affair will reignite the dying embers of this blog?

Ha ha, Chris, no a love affair is the LAST thing that I would blog about.

I actually have plenty to say -- my daily life continues, with all the usual amusing/annoying/beautiful moments. I have strong opinions on all kinds of topics. I just don't feel like writing about them here.

Part of it is that I want to write under my real name, as I do professionally. But I also want to protect the privacy of my family, particularly my teenager kids. So an anonymous blog isn't the greatest place to do what I want to do. I will stick to social media.

But really, enough with the goodbyes -- I am a "keep-in-touch" kind of person!

I shall miss you Lisa, but I think Facebook and Twitter has ruined the blog world and few people blog any more. I am your friend on FB so will keep up with you there !!!

...but as he also said, "to make an end is to make a beginning.

Lisa, Lisa Daaarling! I realize I may have hastened the ending of your blog with my snide comments. (No, no, no need to thank me.) Well, if you must go, you must. But allow me to post a few teary stanzas for that brown-eyed, purploe-headed, sex-starved godess of love, Susie Eichel:

Now baby doll hear what I crave
You make me want to misbehave
If you were mine, I'd be your slave
'Cause I'm in love with you
'Cause I'm in love with you

All the charm you radiate
Makes you the perfect mate
If you were mine, I'd celebrate
'Cause I'm in love with you
'Cause I'm in love with you

Oh that's a bummer. I just recently found your site. Well maybe when you feel up to it you will come back and post.... maybe just not as frequently as before.

I know I have slowed my posts as of late but dammit all being short staffed and over worked. :)

I wish you the best.

Same. Just stopped, lost my mojo (originally tried to go cute w/ "blo-jo" but realized how it sounded LOL). I've enjoyed your blog for more than half of your five years, and we started around the same time. But we're FB friends now, so all is well.

My blog's only got about four months left, at most.

Better to burn out than to fade away... or something like that.

Five... five is pretty old in blog years. You've done well.

I enjoyed reading your posts this last year or so. And never could quite figure out why people got so upset with what you wrote at times. Then again, maybe people need to get upset about something.
