Give us this day our daily CARB FEST.

This time, I added garlic powder and dried basil. I prefer to cook with fresh versions of both, but figured dried forms would give me more even distribution, and I wasn't disappointed.

I also chopped up some pricey dried tomatoes that I got at the Nissin supermarket. I need to find a cheaper source of them, because this recipe was a winner.

I did not intend this to become a BAKING BREAD blog, but bear with me, this is the most exciting thing I've done in a long time. Sad, but true!

Perhaps even sadder? I am reading these posts like PORN. Is that a no-knead recipe? I'm intrigued by the free-form look of the loaves!

Looks wonderful. Do you use a bread machine?

BET the house smells fantastic while the dough is rising, better when it's baking!

yum! Looks great. In the past few weeks, I have started baking our daily bread so to speak. The no knead recipe by that doctor is what I started with and it took off from there. I have to try your version tonight.

You can make your own dried tomatoes in the oven. Slice tomatoes and toss with salt, pepper, olive oil. Lay them out in a single layer on a rack and bake in the oven at 200 degrees, checking every so often until they're as dry as you like. Store in freezer until use.
