A kindred soul is nesting in my garden.
Big Son, his class and all the chaperones had a wonderful time in Yosemite. I would call the trip a complete success, except for the fact that he got off the bus last night wearing the same clothing in which he departed on Wednesday morning (yes, including underwear --- all together now: EEEEEWWWW!).
Today is an unqualified beautiful day. I was just out watering the garden, and guess what? A hummingbird is building a nest in our lilac bush!
I did a little googling. and found this:
The female alone does all of the nest building and rears her hatchlings.
