Poor kid?

Yes, the kids are still going to Japanese school on Saturdays -- a commenter just asked.

I should be better at updating this blog. I should reassure all the kind, concerned people that so far, mornings without me have gone fine.

On school nights, I put Little Son to bed in his school uniform, so the big kids don't have to dress him.

WHAT?!? Don't look at me like that!

Hub thinks this is a form of child abuse. Ah, but Hub is not here, is he? So his opinion counts for naught.

Little Son does not object. The uniform is comfortable. It consists of blue corduroys, a white button-down shirt (no-iron, cotton/poly blend) and a sweater. Twice a week, it's a sweatshirt and sweatpants, for PE.

Some people think this is as insidious as putting my kid to sleep wrapped in sandpaper and bound with barbed wire.

Well, these people can come right on over and dress him for me in the morning.

Oh I would love to be able to sleep in my next day outfit, if I didn't have to deal with BO.

Or just wear pajamas all day. Even better.

I used to do this when I had to bring my sleeping child to my sister's house very early each morning before work. He didn't mind either!

LOL! I'm just trying to get my son out of sleeping in the clothes of the day that's just gone. (Next day's clean clothes are a different kettle of fish.) I can just imagine him as a slacker of 22, bong and all his personal posessions on the floor, girlfriend rolling eyes...

Sounds like it's going well.

Whatever works.

LOL- too cute about him sleeping in his clothes.

My daughter, at times, will fall asleep in her clothes- I just leave her be. No harm, no fowl.

I read that idea last year on a dad-blog and thought it was the clever-est thing I have read! My 5 year old is finally dry at night, give it a few weeks, she'll be picking her complicated next-day outfits at bedtime and going to bed in them! I just have to make sure they'll stay dry first!

My daughter chooses to sleep in her clothes for the next day so she doesn't have to wake up early. Whatever, it works for them and you. Who cares.

You do what you have to do. Dressing Little Son in his school clothes at bedtime is GENIUS!

my fiance does this with his boys. They love it and it does save time in the morning. I was thinking as a mom I need to come in and change this...but maybe not. Why when you say YOU do it, it somehow makes me feel better??? hahaha

Do you think that people's reactions maybe are a carryover from the olden days, where fabrics were cotton, flannel etc and if you did that you'd have an incredibly amount of wrinkling/rumpling? My son's school uniform is polo shirt and trackie dacks (track pants to you Americans) so you wouldn't be able to tell if he slept in them or not. If he had an ironed cotton shirt and creased pants a la 1950s, it wouldn't be possible.
