Spiritual Matters
Yesterday, on the way to church, Big Son said, to no one in particular, "When I pray, I pray to monkey spirits."
"Well, I don`t pray to God or Jesus because they`re boys," said Daughter. "I only pray to Mary, because she`s a girl."
I was surprised to hear they pray at all.
Oh well. Blessed are the poor in spirit -- right?

Awww, Daughter is a little Mary Daly in the making. How cute.
I'm going to start praying to monkey spirits too. That sounds just about right.

Yep -- I hope so.
Hey (get it???), I think your kids have plenty of spirit! Maybe not the kind that the Catholic church would love (well, okay, they'd probably be fine with the Marianism) but I think it's great that they pray and have a spiritual side.
