Conversation Stopper

While I`m on the subject, after yesterday....

Elderly, slightly drunk Irish guy at our parish picnic: "So where are your folks from in the old country?"

Me: "Just outside of Warsaw."

THUD.

(I think I need a tee-shirt that says, "Just because I`m white doesn`t mean I`m Irish.")

I might get killed for saying this
but
In Japan the shirt should read
-Just because I'm white doesnt mean Im American.

My friend actually screamed that at a drunk Japanese guy on the street once. He started yelling at her about the war.

I'm part Irish (from the North (orange) mostly) but I'm half Italian (also from the North) and no one wants to believe it.

I hear ya.

I live up in Boston (of Irish descent, what else?) and my poor fiance is not from the area and is of Polish-Russian descent. And also not-Catholic.

"He's not Irish? Well, the Polish are good Catholic people... He's not Catholic either?"

THUD.
